"Glee" Season 3!!! My SNL Musical!! My Comedic Band! Waitin' for "Glee" Audition CALLBACKS!

Hey, all!

How are you? :)

I'm exhausted and fantastic. In this crazy showbiz world, those two always go hand-in-hand! :)

My life lately: still working my great day job, BUT also playing lots of shows with my comedic band, THE RAGING PEANUTS (including at the AWESOME Jon Lovitz Comedy Club at Universal City Hollywood!), and rehearsing the AMAZING Hollywood Musical, "MORE COWBELL!!! An SNL Musical!"

In "GLEE" NEWS... :)

I just got an email from FOX saying that our beloved show has been picked up for a THIRD SEASON!!! They aren't even finished with the first season yet!!!

OMG!!

So exciting.

I am often reminded of one of my favorite shows, "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" (starring the beautiful and amazing Sarah Paulson, a TWITTER FRIEND of my sister, Theresa's!!!!)... I feel like I get to have my very own "Studio 60" with "MORE COWBELL!!! An SNL Musical!"-- it's on Sunset Boulevard as well! :)

That show was incredible... and sadly, it was only given a season (still available on HULU!!!! CHECK IT OUT!!!!!!!!!).

I am SO HAPPY that "Glee" has been embraced by the world the way it is!

Whether or not my "Glee" Audition lands me a callback, I will be watching this show for as long as is it made!!! :)

Oh! Also, catch me in the upcoming season of "MAD MEN" on AMC!!!!!!!!! :)

"Glee" Audition Videos are due soon!! Finishing mine today! :)

WOW!! I feel so great! It was a nightmare earlier trying to get the framing and lighting right and all that jazz (not to mention the difficulty of the song both vocally and on piano). Yay for accomplishment.

Screen cap from my "Glee" Audition Video!!! Playing "'Glee' Wannabe" :)

I'm editing the video right now, and soon it will be on MySpace where I am begging you to please go give me a gold star (and tell your friends!). This could be my big break, folks!! :D

"Glee" Audition "Can't Fight This Feeling" Live Video, Hot Talk LA RULES, PLUS new website design!

I'm changing my website!!! My sister and consultant, Liz, suggested a newspaper design, so I tried my best. :)

Please let me know what you think!!

MaryPascoe.com

I have been working nonstop on "Can't Fight This Feeling"!!!

A few nights ago, I had the pleasure of chillin' with some of the Hot Talk LA crew (a very fun crowd), and we found ourselves dominating the stage at the Draft's karaoke night. I felt extra special, because everyone kept bringing me on stage to sing with them!

The DJ even nicknamed me Lil Jon-- "'cause you're on everyone's sh*t!" hahaha!!

Here I am singing my "Glee" Audition Song live at karaoke:

For my actual "Glee" Audition, I'll be playing keyboard while singing!! Oh, boy!!

I'm excited.

Let me know what you think of all my progress!!! I'm workin' hard! And listening to my awesome friends at Hot Talk LA... :)

And how are you? <3

Jacqui Kreisler: talented, beautiful, AMAZING friend, and "Glee" Audition Expert!

In case you don't know about my superstar friend, Jacqui Kreisler is an INSANELY talented dancer, contortionist, actress, and one of the most stunning performers I have ever seen in my entire life (no joke). Think I'm exaggerating?? Check this out:

That's right, I get to be friends with HER!!! Hehee. AND today she was kind enough to share her time with me to talk about my "Glee" Audition, give me some GREAT dance tips, and brighten my world. :)

Since we both love "Glee" so much, we already knew the type of choreography they typically do, so my superstar pal knew exactly what to include in my audition! We even watched "Keep Holding On" (the version from "Glee") a few times, and she has that awesome professional dancer eye that catches little things most of us miss! With Jacqui, I'm always impressed! And I am so happy to have a firm direction for the shoot!!

AND she taught me this super cool kick move to add a little something extra, so hopefully I can master it in time!! :)

With Jacqui in my corner, I feel SUPER extra confident going into filming!!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH, JACQUI!!!!!!! Hopefully we'll get to do the live taping next Tuesday so your wonderful presence can add to the energy of the performance!! I love you so much!!! <3

"Glee" Auditions are HERE! "Keep Holding On" is my song! Miley/Avril Mash-up Fun!

Is it just me, or is this year flying by already?

It has been a terrific year so far though! I am really counting my blessings. The outpouring of support for my "Glee" Audition has made a tremendous impact on so many things for me. I can't begin to thank you all enough!

Now that FOX has announced the song list, I've been hard at work singing "Keep Holding On" day in and day out, and completely have it down on guitar. Franko and I worked out the storyline for my audition video, and will shoot some of it next week and the live performance the following week.

While I was working on my audition song, I noticed that "When I Look at You" by Miley Cyrus fits right in, so I arranged a cool mash-up that I will post this week!

Lots and lots of people are getting excited about their "Glee" Auditions, and it's going to be a tough call! I know I'm giving it my best though, and that's all I can ask for! ;)

Thanks again, and please drop me a note if you're reading! Happy Easter!!!!

New Gleerio VLOG! My character talkin' Miley hatin' on the Internet and Quadruple Threats!

"Glee" Auditions require a lot of character work. ;) Please do give me input!! You can help me mold "Mary Sue"!! Thank you all so much for your support!!!!

I also just applied for a scholarship through PUMA to attend Second City for a year!!! AHHHH I hope I get it!!!

This is my audition video:

I wrote a song about how badly I wanted to go to Second City! Which is what I do... what I'm doing with "Glee" haha. ;)

Quick thoughts! Cheerleading shoes I bought for "Ninja Cheerleaders" now for "Glee"!

People always laugh when actors confess how little they made on a movie or show.

It's true... we're all struggling. We just enjoy those jobs WAY more than the day jobs. ;)

The super fun "Ninja Cheerleaders" was a SAG Low Budget Film, which means many things (I won't get into it, but feel free to ask). We had a problem at the end with our credits (they were part of the deal), but they said they ran out of money, so we understand.

So... I had to buy brand new spankin' white cheer shoes for the movie, which I was happy to do. Reminds me of the time in high school varsity cheer at competition, when I forgot my "official" shoes (only had my very nice "practice" shoes), and my dad drove about an hour or maybe more to bring them to me, only to learn that my coach wouldn't allow me to perform anyway (even hours before our slot).

My very first Sue Sylvester. I am MORE than prepared for this role! Heh.

Anyway... I am using the "Ninja Cheerleaders" shoes for my "Glee" Audition! Woohoo!

That is all. I've already shared too much!

Yay for being GREEN and using "Ninja Cheerleaders" shoes for "Glee"!! ;)

"Glee" Auditions mean lots of training and preparation and publicity! And I love it! :)

So much to do!!

I'm finishing up my "Glee" Audition Website, the recording of "Glee Wannabe," and now need to quickly finish my audition tape for the Cincinnati Preliminary "Glee" Auditions AND my audition tape for the scholarship to Second City!

I also had a great meeting with Michael Franklin of Cafe Vibe TV, and it looks like we're going to film my official "Glee" Audition in a live concert setting at Cafe Vibe! Details coming soon, but for now, let me know what night works best for you! I want to get as many awesome audience members as possible. It'll be free admission, just treat yourselves to dinner while you're there! :)

Dance, running, and gymnastics training are going very well!! I'm loving every second of it! I can't wait to work with my dance friends on my "Glee" choreography!! In the meantime, I'm doing some of my own for my character vlogs!

Okay, a little more work and then it's off to Madeleine Bistro-- gotta pay those bills!

Something I made for my "Glee" Audition Website! :)

Glee Auditions, Running Redhaired Cheerios, and My Wonderful Family and Friends!

I'm stretching with Cory, my bandmate, before we head out for a night run.
I feel like such a good influence!! :) Yay!

It has been so awesome lately to have really clear goals, wonderfully supportive friends (read: YOU!), and all the other luck I've had along the way! Life is truly amazing!

There are no words to adequately express my feelings here... I simply had a SPECTACULAR visit with my family and friends in Michigan!! THANKS, MOM!! :)

Unfortunately, time slipped away too quickly to get to work with the awesome Chris Bley, but I sure hope we can find a way to work together in the future. I just didn't time everything well... and I'm tough to tear away from my mom and sisters haha. No matter how long I give myself to see the family, it's never long enough!!

So... I'm sorry to Ashley and Chris, but also thank you so much for being there for me. I just dropped the ball on this one, but something cool and fun can be done... haha. I just kind of needed a break, and that is exactly what my wonderful family gave me.

I got to hang with my awesome sisters, Elly, Kitten, and Katie, and the best mom in the whole world, OWENKAPOENJOEN! That's right, I have weird nicknames for everyone. I'm a weird kid. ;D

My mom and I have this cute tradition: whenever I visit, we go to the "bad" mall and get one of these silly "Leonardo" pictures done, because it's hilarious and we both love to laugh. We have lots of these pictures, and it's funny to put them side-by-side to see how much we have both changed since I ran off to LA. ;)

I also got to see my grandma, aunts, cousins, and all that jazz!! It was lovely. I wish there were more time in the day to catch up with family and friends! I am so blessed to have every single one of you, and... gosh, I just wish there were more time! Haha.
While in Michigan, I was also lucky enough to dine at Panera with Elly and Amanda (who is SO freaking cool and has tons of cool marine biology and zoology stories!), and at Thai Thai with Katie and Lucia (who is changing lives each day as a nutritionist for WIC, and is even more charming than ever!) It was SO awesome to catch up!!! My friends are the raddest!!

And I even got to have a nice dinner with my dad and his lovely new wife. Between those two, Jim and Sara, and Liz and Calvin (marriage: 8/9/10-- save the date!), there's a lot of love in Michigan!! Then there are us single Pascoes... watch out! Haha.

Off to run... will finish when I return... ;)

*a couple hours later*

Fabulous running and dancing! I have a cute idea for my (possible, fingers crossed!) "Glee" character's first vlog! Cory and I had a really great acting learning session today (he teaches me stuff, 'cause he is an amazing actor and I am in awe of his talent, and I yearn to learn haha), and a lot of great ideas grew.

Gee, I hope you all like them!

This is so much fun!

Oh, and I made "Mary Sue" her very own Twitter!!!

http://www.twitter.com/MarySueGLEE

She should only follow other fictional people, right? What do y'all think? I'd love to have the input of the whole team... that means YOU! If you don't mind... 'cause I'd love to have you on my team. :)

Thank you all for being so amazing!!! Go have a dance party!!

So excited to play my new song, "Glee Wannabe" and Ke$ha's "Tik Tok" LIVE in concert tomorrow in LA!

Wow, so much is happening!!

Tomorrow (Monday) night, I will be performing live in concert at Ireland's 32 in Van Nuys, California!! It's a free show, and I will play solo songs as well as fun stuff with my bandmate, Cory Pearman. The Raging Peanuts is a comedic band, so expect to laugh!!

We open the show, so come around 9! It's going to be a lot of fun!

I've written a very fun song called "Glee Wannabe" that will debut at the show!! Here's a sneak peek at some of the lyrics (don't worry, I've already taken care of the copyright):

"Glee, Glee, Glee, Glee,
who's it gonna be?
Who will be cast?
Is it gonna be me?

Glee, Glee, Glee,
we're all Glee Wannabes,
but I just gotta be on Glee.

Hey there, Mr. Ryan Murphy,
please, please, please
pay attention to me.

I love your show,
wanna help it grow.
Please put me on Glee..."

And, of course, we will be performing our acoustic arrangement of Ke$ha's "Tik Tok," which we recently recorded with our good friend, Nice Peter. He is currently mastering the file, so it will be available online very soon! :)

Then I get to jet off to Michigan for a week to see my family and friends!!

We will also be filming parts of my Glee Audition Video on location at Gull Lake High School! Lots of cool cheerleading tricks and whatnot. It's going to be awesome.

"Glee Wannabe" will be available as an mp3 very soon, but recording will have to wait until I return from Michigan.

I can't thank you all enough for your wonderful support!!!!! 2010, baby!

"We're all Glee Wannabes, but I just gotta be on Glee!"

Jazzed up my blog's main picture a bit! :)

Ah, Sue Sylvester. I look forward to learning from you. :)

Jane Lynch as well. YOU are a GENIUS.

"Glee" makes me feel so inspired!!

I can't wait to go film my audition video on location in Michigan! And, OF COURSE, hang out with my SUPER AWESOME AND AMAZING family!!!!!!

My sister, Liz, is going to help me (and we have done MANY awesome videos in the past and she's my "twin"-- check out my other blog for more info!). Maybe we could even get to Ohio for a minute... PS-- Cedar Point is THE BEST and if I got tickets as a Cheerio Perk, I would NEVER sell them on eBay for a profit!!

Haha, back to reality. My lovely friend from Gull Lake High School who now lives here in Los Angeles with me, Ashley Pierson, might have a camera/tripod/mic hook-up for us to borrow in Michigan!!! Funny how that works, eh? Liz told me to put it out into the universe via Twitter and Facebook and I did! She always knows just what to do. My sisters are like my Jack Donaghys. Or is it hies? Haha.

Ashley... YAAAAY!!!! :) Thank you, my darling!!! I really hope you can make it on Monday. It always warms my heart to see you and chat with you!!!

And all of YOU are invited to my free concert on Monday as well!! Check out the picture for info. Cory and I are playing some solo songs as well as a couple Raging Peanuts Songs!!!

I'm going to debut my new song, "Glee Wannabe," which isn't technically finished yet, but it will be. Haha. ;)

The Raging Peanuts will be debuting our acoustic arrangement of "Tik Tok" by Ke$ha!!! It'll be a lot of fun.

We're playing with our good friends, Papafoam, who were so kind to invite us to play-- THANK YOU!!! I can't wait to see you guys perform again. I had SO much fun the last time we played a bill together, and this one is going to be even more rad! 29 Mules is also playing, and introducing Short Cut! Exciting. :)

See ya there?

"You think this was hard? Try auditioning for 'Baywatch' and being told they're going in another direction. That was hard." --Sue Sylvester, "Glee"

I want to begin by saying a great, big THANKS to all my wonderful friends out there for all your support on Facebook, Twitter, in person, and all that jazz!! This is so wonderful, and you are all making me feel more and more like one of these 3 roles is mine for the taking! THANK YOU!!! :)

I've been doing a LOT of character development these past couple weeks, as well as working on my songs (although they still may change). My sisters have been insanely helpful, and Katya is going to do some PR work for me!! I am so blessed. :)

So my character (for auditioning purposes) is "Mary Sue" (my real name)! Her last name will be "Palmer," an ode to my neighbors growing up in Michigan. :)

Her nickname can be Masupa just like mine (first 2 letters of each name), which can make her "Glee" nickname, "MASUPASTAR!!!" :) I can just see them saying my nickname excitedly once they welcome me into New Directions!

She will be the new girl, a star cheerleader and performer from her high school in Michigan, Mary Sue is eager to show everyone at William McKinley High School what she's got!!

Once she becomes a Cheerio (which won't take long), she quickly bonds with Sue Sylvester over their names and thirst for the spotlight, but is always brimming with good intentions and a healthy dose of naïveté.

So exciting!

Much more to come...

I went back to sleep for several hours.

"Put it in there."

"Worlds are colliding!"

Oy, the stress.

Wish I had time to sleep.

Glee Audition Information

In case you don't know already, you may be able to audition for "Glee" as well! The process is so much fun! :)

You will find information as if becomes available on FOX's website for "Glee" Auditions.

Break a leg and keep in touch as you work on your audition! No competitive weirdness here-- just a fellow actor/singer having a great time. :)

New Glee Poster 2010!

Here is my unofficial "Glee" poster again, color-corrected this time by the fabulous photographer Suzanne Zizzi (the part that's me, haha). Then I played with Macromedia Fireworks for a bit. My character and I are both computer nerds. ;P

Oh, "Glee"!

"It will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine." --Wayne, "Wayne's World" (one of the best movies ever)... and ME!

Talking "Glee" Auditions and Enjoying Vegan Pasta with Denny Brooks!

Today has been fantastic! I feel as if things are moving forward in very positive ways, and I have each and every one of you to thank for that! All my fans from over the years, Twitter Followers, people I've met in school or at day jobs, you have all given me something special, and I want to thank you for that! :)

The fabulous Denny Brooks, who happens to be my neighbor and one of my best friends, came over tonight for Masupa's Favorite Pasta (my signature vegan recipe) and to chat about life, voice-over, "Glee" auditions, headshots, agents, music, Ivana Chubbuck's Master Acting Class, and all sorts of other fun stuff. We had a blast!

"This food is righteous, and I love it more than life... what a meal! Mmm!" --Denny Brooks

Thank you so much for all your advice, Denny. I promise I won't let you down!!

We figured out all sorts of things about my "Glee" character, Mary Louise. I can't wait to share her with you!! Just a few more days of development, and I'll post some video!

Gee, I'm excited. As Theresa says, I am "positively gleeful"! :)

Wednesday, February 10, 2010

My Very First Glee Poster! Haha.

I just made this to pep myself up a bit, and thought you'd get a kick out of it! The photo of me isn't even color-corrected from the photographer yet, so maybe I'll make a better version of this later. Cute, huh? :)

The Next Glee Cast Member -- Ready to Work!!

My sister told me, plain and simple, "You are the next 'Glee' cast member."

I'm starting to believe it.

Today I spent a lot of time in front of the mirror, completely immersed in the character I am creating for my "Glee" audition video.

She is a lot like me. Quite nerdy, a little awkward, but tends to make people laugh when they let her talk. Living just above the poverty line, but determined and crafty. She's shy, but opens her heart on stage and fills the room with her talent.

She's a former band nerd, who worked her booty off (gymnastics, home stretching and such) in order to become one of the amazing Cheerios. I am on the lookout for a uniform to wear in my audition video.

Always a quiet outsider, my "Glee" character has a big heart, and is dying for a friend to spoil. Rachel is her hero, a beam of light inspiring her to work harder than anyone to achieve her goals. This causes constant worry over upsetting Rachel (she's the star, after all!), which is part of the reason why she has yet to join the Glee Club!

She also blogs and vlogs... :D

I've written a good portion of my "Glee" audition script through improv. I will likely incorporate both scripted narrative and improv in my final audition video. Today, I started thinking about my character's goals.

She would say, "I want an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, a Tony... and maybe even one of those MTV Awards. As they say on '30 Rock,' I'm 'EGOTTING'!!"

The Cheerios subplot is equally important. She still feels like an outsider there, although she is their star flier and one of the most flexible girls on the team.

Not only is she disliked because she is neither popular nor rich, but there is also a secret event that will be revealed in the video. She wasn't trying to upset anyone, but became the center of controversy while trying to do something good for the world.

You be the judge!

I also feel that her addition to both the Cheerios and New Directions, with her big, big heart, will help other characters on "Glee" to grow in organic ways as well! Coolness. :)

Back to the Cheerios part of the audition video!!

Any suggestions on particular stunts/tumbling/cheers? I'm thinking a few jumps, a kick, roundoffs and cartwheels into the splits. Then a big surprise only my sisters and acting coach get to know. ;)

I'm SO excited, and having so much fun!!

Elisabeth Pascoe, my official consultant on all affairs related to my career and specifically PR, came up with the most brilliant 2 songs for my audition (It's "Glee"-- I have to do a mash-up!!).

And my oldest sister, Theresa Pascoe, is going to arrange the mash-up for me! She has a BRILLIANT musical mind, so this will turn out even better than if I had done so myself! It also gives me more time to work on the vocals!!

I can't wait to work more on this! So... I will not wait! Back to more character development and improv! I live for this stuff!!! :)
